Cuba Summer 2017

June 7-19, 2017

Join us for a once in a lifetime trip to Cuba, as its borders open for travel.

Complete 6 credits, plus earn LBC credit.

ILP 235 Global Sustainability (3 credits)

This course involves research and discussion of environmental  and Corporate Social Responsibility issues relevant to Cuba, and programs and activities that enhance the ability of students to comprehend, analyze, and grasp different aspects of sustainability that are the responsibility of organizations in the global environment.

BUS 315: International Practicum (3 credits)

International Practicum involves pre-travel study and travel of 10-14 days duration during school breaks that are chaperoned and supervised by a business faculty member. These trips take students outside the geographic borders of the U.S. and provide learning experiences beyond the classroom environment. Programs and activities enhance the ability of students to comprehend, analyze, and grasp different cultural aspects that impact successful management of organizations in the global work environment. The major goal of the International Practicum is to allow undergraduate students opportunities to enhance their understanding of cross-cultural differences and the globalization of the work environment.

How much will this trip cost?

This trip is estimated to cost $4,900 and is subject to change. This includes airfare.

What will I see in Cuba?

You will visit historical and culturally-rich sites including Havana, El Morro Castle, LaCabana fortress, the statue of El Cristo, Viñales Valley National Monument, Colon Cemetaries, Trinidad, Hemingway museum, and the Cuban Hall of Fame baseball museum, among many others.

How can I participate?

Students must be in good academic standing to participate in study abroad opportunities. Students participating in year-long or semester-long study abroad programs must satisfy the specific grade point average required by the foreign university they will be attending.
