The mission of the Alumni Association of Western New England University is to communicate with and bring value to the alumni body and to support actively and financially the goals of the University as detailed in its Mission Statement.

The President must have served as Vice President for at least one term, in order to have knowledge of the mission and vision of the Association. As President, Mat provides leadership and guidance to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Alumni Association, in accordance with its constitution and bylaws. He is instrumental in developing long range plans for the Alumni Association that incorporate the University’s strategic plan. Additionally, Mat represents the Alumni Association in an official capacity at Commencement, Homecoming, the Senior Class Brunch, and other University events. He works closely with Kathy Pappas G'98, the director of alumni relations.

Vice President

The Vice President must have served as either Secretary, Member-at-Large, a Committee Chair of the Alumni Association, or as a Chapter Chair, in order to have an overview of the mission and vision of the Association and its goals. He assists the President in providing leadership for the Alumni Association.

Mike serves as a link to other Past Presidents. He also conducts an annual evaluation of the performance on Association leadership. He provides advice and counsel to current Board members, particularly the President. Additionally, the Immediate Past President undertakes any additional responsibilities deemed necessary by both the president of the Alumni Association and the director of Alumni Relations.

Volunteer Management Chair

Kyle is responsible for recruiting team members, setting a meeting schedule, and appointing a vice chair from team leaders to serve a one-year term. She also administers all awards given by the Alumni Association and oversees the Nominating Team and the Constitution and Bylaws Team.

Alumni Outreach Committee Chair

The Alumni Outreach Committee Chair helps coordinate the Alumni Association activities calendar and administers social events and programs sponsored by the Association. Kristen is responsible for leading the Alumni Golf Tournament and Homecoming Teams.

Secretary

The Secretary must have previously served on any one of the teams of the Alumni Association, as a Chapter Chair, or in any one of the program volunteer positions. Scott is responsible for preparing the Association Board of Directors and Cabinet meeting minutes and other associated program duties.

 

Members-at-Large

Our Members-at-Large serve as liaisons between a designated committee or team of the Alumni Association and the Association Board of Directors. Each Member-at-Large focuses on a year long project to help the Association advance its mission as stated in the strategic plan.
