Read the Blog on the Emerald Isle by Michele Laffert ’89

Have you ever enjoyed breakfast in a castle while being serenaded by a bagpipes player? Five Western New England University alumni did just that on the first day of the Alumni Association trip to Ireland on September 26, 2008. The group, which stayed in the Old Ground Hotel in Ennis, the capital of County Clare, visited such places as the historic Bunratty Castle and the beautiful Cliffs of Moher.
Needless to say, they also ventured into pubs with great live Irish music. Read about their voyage to Inishmore, the largest of the three Aran Islands, and the Burren National Park, one of Europe’s most mysterious geological regions. Michele Laffert ’89 authored a blog of the trip, which ended on October 3.
Other Western New England University alumni on this journey were Katherine LaFortune ’89/G’98, Christine Pollender ’99, Martin Schoenemann ’74, and Sharon Tortola ’00.
