Western New England College School of Law will host Executive Director of the Springfield Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) and School of Law Alum, Charles Rucks, as part of the School's Color of Law Roundtable Discussion Series. Rucks will share insights on his career path with law students on Thursday, April 17 at noon in Room A of the S. Prestley Blake Law Center.
A leader in business, law, and community development, Rucks served as Senior Vice President of the Urban League of Springfield before his position at NHS. Currently, Rucks serves on the Massachusetts Fannie Mae advisory board and sits on the Boards of Directors for HAP, Hampden County Deputy Sheriff's Association, Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations, Mental Health Association, and the YMCA of Greater Springfield.
The Color of Law series is designed to expose Western New England College law students to attorneys, professionals, and judges of color from the surrounding area. "It is a great opportunity for students to network with outstanding people of color in the legal community, allowing our students to witness their potential," says assistant professor of law Bridgette Baldwin. Rucks is the fourth speaker of the spring semester at the School of Law.
