Today more than ever, sport is a multi-million dollar global industry. The Center for International Sport Business (CISB) is a forum for the study of the business of sport, through an international lens. The CISB takes students to the Olympic Games or FIFA World Cup events and organizes conferences and seminars around the business of sport and its impact on the global economy for students, scholars, industry professionals, and other interested stakeholders.

The Center for International Sport Business hosts a variety of world-renowned speakers, field trips, and opportunities for students to further immerse themselves in the business of international sport.
For the Love of the Games Distinguished Speaker Series
The “For the Love of the Games Distinguished Speaker Series” is a platform for leading personalities in the world of sport to discuss contemporary issues related to the business of sport. The CISB launched the Speaker Series in 2007 as part of its Distinguished Visitor Program, with World Anti-Doping Agency chair and International Olympic Committee member Dick Pound.
People Who Inspire
The “A Brown Bag Series: People Who Inspire” provides an engaging setting lunchtime for students to personally interact with guest speakers. Past speakers include Olympic Bronze Medalist Rodney Smith ’89/G’03, Professional Men’s Baseball Coach Justine Siegal, Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Vice President Paul Lambert, and two-time Olympian Judy Strong.
The CISB also sponsors other events including tours of local sporting facilities such as the MassMutual Center and the University of Connecticut's Rentschler Field, as well as guest lectures.

Seminar Abroad to Olympics Games or FIFA World Cup
For the experience of a lifetime, nothing compares to the seminar abroad program to attend the Olympic Games or the FIFA World Cup. Not only will you see events up close, but you will also learn about the culture of the host country, meet with industry professionals on their turf, and get a new perspective on what it means to organize and run a major world sporting event. The next Seminar Abroad trip with be to Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
