Services
The Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship is a joint effort of the School of Law and College of Business at Western New England University, located in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship provides real world learning experiences for graduate business and law students, while at the same time supporting the establishment and development of small businesses in western Massachusetts. The Center’s programs fall into two broad categories: clinical services and community outreach.
Community Outreach
The Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship reaches out to the community through several initiatives:
Annual Conference: A daylong event that gathers scholars and policymakers from both the legal and business worlds, along with speakers from the private sector and NGOs to explore issues relating to entrepreneurship and community development.
Entrepreneurial Speaker Series: Renowned experts from around the nation are invited to visit campus and share their thoughts about law and entrepreneurship, or on business success generally.
EXTREME Business Makeovers: Experts in the fields of law, accounting, marketing, and finance critique the actual business plan of a pre-selected business and offer advice on entrepreneurship, promotion, profitability, and more.
Information Sessions: Held throughout the year and at locations throughout the Pioneer Valley, these information sessions cover a wide range of issues that regularly confront entrepreneurs, such as dealing with government licensing, protecting intellectual property, and effective marketing.
Resource Center: With a wide range of books on legal and business topics of special interest to entrepreneurs, the Resource Center provides information to help entrepreneurs resolve issues on their own or to become more sophisticated consumers of legal and business consulting services. For use by the community. Online resources can be found here.
