School of Law Ceremony 2013

Western New England University School of Law Commencement, Saturday, May 18

The Western New England University School of Law will award J.D. and LL.M. degrees during a ceremony at Symphony Hall in downtown Springfield. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m.

Financial Obligations

The deadline for settling all accounts at the Student Administrative Services Office in order to receive your diploma at Commencement is Friday, May 17, 2013. The costs of caps, gowns, invitations, and other expenses are borne by the University.

Students who borrow under the Federal Direct Loan Program are required to complete an online exit interview. The Direct Loan Servicing website is https://www.studentloans.gov. Students who borrow under the Federal Perkins Loan Program are also required to complete an online exit interview . The Perkins Loan exit interview site is https://www.uasexit.com.

Caps and Gowns

Degree candidates will be sent a questionnaire in February regarding commencement attendance. If attending, they will provide size information for caps and gowns. Those attending must pick up their preordered cap and gown at Grad Fest on Wednesday, April 17, and Thursday April 18, from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. in Rivers Memorial Hall. August, October, and February graduates who are out of the area may either contact the Blue and Gold Bookstore at 413-782-1284 prior to the distribution dates or give someone else written permission to pick up their regalia for them. Caps and gowns will also be available at Commencement for those who do not pick them up during the distribution period. Caps, gowns, and hoods are to be returned immediately following the ceremony.

Invitations and Tickets

Commencement invitations will be available beginning date TBD, at the Student Records Office. Tickets for admittance to the Law Commencement will not be necessary.

Photographs

Photographs will be taken of each graduate as he/she receives congratulations from President Caprio. Log on to www.gradimages.com to pre-register your email address. As soon as your Commencement photos are processed you will receive an email from Graduation Images with instructions for veiwing and purchasing your photos online.

Driving Directions to the I-91 South Garage

From Route 291
(Mass Pike) Route 291 West splits bear to the right.
After the split take the first exit (Chestnut Street) follow Chestnut Street to next light.
At this light (Liberty Street) take a right.
At the next light (Dwight Street) take a left.
Proceed forward to the 7th set of lights (East Court Street) take a right.
At the next light (Main Street) proceed forward to the stop sign (East Columbus Ave.)
At the stop sign take a right.
The garage entrance will be on the left.
The garage is located beneath Interstate 91

From I-91 North
(From Connecticut) I-91 North to exit 6 (Downtown Springfield)
At the bottom of the ramp is a set of lights (State Street and East Columbus Ave.).
Proceed straight through the lights.
At the next set of lights take a left into the garage.

From I-91 South
(From Northampton, Holyoke) I-91 South to exit 7 (Columbus Ave)
At the bottom of the ramp is a light, proceed straight through this light
The garage entrance will be on the left.

Parking will be available in the lots under I-91 near Symphony Hall, the Sheraton, and in the Columbus Center Garage.

Family, Guests, and Special Arrangements

Guests should enter Symphony Hall through the front doors. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. For guests who cannot climb stairs to the front doors, an entrance at ground level is available from East Columbus Avenue.
