The First Year: Hit the Ground Running

At Western New England University, you begin your education as an engineer in your very first semester. To help you make the transition from high school or another college, we have a special “First Year Program.” Peer advisors and upperclass student mentors help you find your way around campus, explore clubs and activities, and manage your time. To learn more, visit Facilities and Labs.

Internships and Special Opportunities

We encourage all of our students to apply for internships and research experience for undergraduates (REUs). Learn more about internships.

Athletics and Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering has a long history of successful student-athletes. Read more about our 19 NCAA Division III on our athletics web page.

Senior Design Projects

All students must complete a Senior Design Project in order to graduate. The range of topics is incredibly wide. Some projects are sponsored by industry and some are initiated by faculty members. Perhaps the best senior projects are those initiated by the students themselves!

Aside from being excellent networking opportunities with future employers, the Senior Design Project themselves are "industrial strength" undertakings that involve proposals, review, formal presentations, and ordering necessary parts (not to mention having to plan for contingencies if parts do not arrive).

View some examples of the quality Senior Design Projects that our students take on.

Transfer Students

Are you a student thinking of transfering to Western New England University from a community college or another four-year institution? Visit the Electrical Engineering transfer student page for more information on how easy Western New England University can make the process.
