How Much Will You Spend

This undergraduate financial aid estimator was designed to help you, a prospective student, estimate your need-based financial aid options, any available merit scholarships or grants, and the cost of attendance. Specific questions about your family's income and assets will be asked. Therefore, the calculator will probably need to be completed by your parents. Detailed information on the costs can be found on our Undergraduate Tuition page. If you only want to estimate your merit aid amount, you should use the Scholarship Calculator.

Please read the following before you use the financial aid calculator. Once you begin, please also read the buttons with a question mark for additional information.

Please remember that this information is preliminary, based on the information that you supply, and is for estimating purposes only. Your official financial aid award will be sent to you after you have been accepted to Western New England University and the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) have been reviewed.

Understanding your results:

  1. As you are aware, there are indirect costs associated with attending college. We have estimated items such as books, personal expenses, and transportation. These are NOT University charges. Therefore, the “Total Estimated Cost” figure is higher than the amount which would be paid to the University in tuition, fees, room, and meals.
  2. The results may indicate your eligibility for Work Study (student employment). Many students receive an award that allows them to earn up to $2,400. The results may also include an opportunity to borrow funds at a very low interest rate. This could be under the Perkins Loan and/or Subsidized Direct Ford Loan programs (repayment begins after graduation), and/or the Unsubsidized Direct Ford Loan program (interest accrues but no repayment is made until after graduation).
  3. Financial aid may not cover all the University's charges and other costs. Many families choose to finance part or all of the costs which may remain after student financial aid. While there are a variety of options and we can provide assistance in evaluating them, many parents choose to apply for a Federal Plus (Parent) Loan. This is a low interest, credit-based loan; repayment can be deferred until after graduation.

The last part of the financial aid estimator will request the student's name and an email address so that you can receive the results. Additional information will be provided in that email.
