What are Amazing Experiences?

Students will face many changes as they transition to life at Western New England University and the first six weeks can be especially pivotal. Establishing meaningful relationships with peers is an important part of college life. The Amazing Experiences program is designed to ease the transition to college living and assist students in building relationships with their peers. Encompassing six different experiences which take place on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4, each experience has been created in the spirit of adventure.

What Experiences Can I Choose From?

There's something for everyone! From a New England Revolution Soccer Game to Zip Lining through the Berkshires join faculty, fellow first year students, and peer advisors on anyone of these “amazing” ways to spend the Saturday and/or Sunday of Labor Day Weekend! More information on each trip is listed below:

Amazing Experiences

  • Blue Man Group/Boston

    Saturday, September 3

    Start your experience by heading to the famed Faneuil Hall and enjoy various shops before heading to dinner at Dicks Last Resort. Following dinner, students will experience the famous Blue Man Group performance in Boston. This experience departs campus on Saturday, September 3 at 2:45 p.m. and returns by 11:00 p.m. Cost: $90

  • Providence Place Mall/Water Fire

    Saturday, September 3

    Dive into the true Providence Experience by first shopping at one of the biggest malls in New England. After you shop ‘til you drop, enjoy dinner at Fire and Ice, one of Providence’s most popular restaurants. Cap off the evening by experiencing the famous “Water Fire” lighting, where over 80 bonfires are lit across Providence’s three rivers. While strolling along the beautiful scene, students will be able to enjoy live music, street vendors, and more. This experience departs Saturday, September 3 at 1:30 p.m. and returns by 10:30 p.m. Cost: $55

  • New England Revolution Game

    Saturday, September 3

    Enjoy the day in Boston with the full New England Revs experience! Students will depart campus for Gillette Stadium for shopping and dinner before game time. Dinner will be held at the CBS Scene Restaurant. The Revs will take on the Colorado Rapids in a 7:30 p.m. start time. This experience departs campus Saturday, September 3 at 3:00 p.m. and returns by 11:30 p.m. Cost: $80

  • Whitewater Rafting

    Sunday, September 4

    Prepare for the rush of a lifetime! Students will head to Deerfield River in Western MA for a trip down the rapids. You will have the opportunity to share a raft and lunch with other incoming students. This experience departs Sunday, September 4 at 8:45 a.m. and should return at 6:00 p.m. Cost: $89

  • Paintball Experience

    Sunday, September 4

    Students and staff will be able to shoot about 500 paintballs and battle against each other on expansive playing fields in nearby Agawam, MA. To help wind down after the fun morning, pizza will be served for lunch. Experience departs Sunday, September 4 at 8:45 a.m. and returns by 1:00 p.m. Cost: $50

  • Zip Lining Experience

    Sunday, September 4

    Zip line through the Berkshire wilderness on a canopy tour in the area of Deerfield River. Students and staff will  be given lunch during the excursion. This experience departs campus Sunday, September 4 at 8:30 a.m. and should return by 6:00 p.m. Cost: $89
