Access to D'Amour Library

The University reserves the use of the Library for current Western New England students, faculty, staff and alumni. Secondarily, D'Amour Library supports the educational efforts of the Cooperating Colleges of Greater Springfield (CCGS) and area public and private schools by providing access to its collections and services. Our first priority, however, is to the University community, and our policies are designed with this priority in mind.

  • After 6:00 p.m. and on weekends, all members of the Western New England community must use their University ID cards to gain access to D'Amour Library.

  • Western New England alumni, current CCGS students, faculty, and staff, and current Springfield area teachers who wish to use D'Amour Library after 6:00 p.m. and on weekends may apply for a Library Access Card.

    • Applications are available at the D'Amour Library; completed applications may be brought to Public Safety Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.

    • Each applicant must present a current CCGS student ID, teacher ID, or WNE alumni card

All guest users must register with D’Amour Library, and must sign in at the Circulation Desk each time that they visit the Library. A current ID is required to register.

Use of the Library's Computers

A WNE computer login is required to use the Library’s computers. Registered guests may borrow computer logins at the Circulation Desk. Alumni and education-affiliated guests may borrow logins for 4 hours at a time, and may be allowed to renew the login for an additional 2 hours. Community guests may borrow login for 1 hour, with the possibility of a one hour renewal. Guests will be fined for logins not returned on time.

Please see the complete Library computer guest user policy.

Printing

Guests planning to print from the Library’s computers must purchase $5.00 printing cards at the Circulation Desk. $.10 will be deducted from the original $5.00 balance for every black and white page printed; $.20 will be deducted for every page printed in color. The Library is not able to accept debit or credit cards, and cannot issue refunds for misplaced cards.
