University Art Gallery to Hold Photo Contest

The Western New England University Art Gallery is holding its first annual Study Abroad Photo Contest for all students and faculty who travel abroad and engage in an educational experience.

The Western New England University Art Gallery is holding its first annual Study Abroad Photo Contest for all students and faculty who travel abroad and engage in an educational experience. The contest will visually highlight the educational experiences of students and faculty studying abroad, and give them recognition of their exceptional photography. Many of the photos will be exhibited in the University Art Gallery and in other locations on campus throughout the next academic year.

Each participant can submit up to 12 photos taken during any international learning experience between May 2014 and June 10, 2017, in any combination of the four photo categories.

Prizes for First, Second, and Third Place, and Honorable Mentions, will be awarded in the following four categories:     

Groups:  Group photos of five or more students and/or faculty overseas.

Experiential Learning: Students engaged in any experiential learning experience.

Making Friends: Individual or small group photos with local people.

Anything Goes: Landscapes, still-life, architecture, local people. Use your imagination and be creative. 

Photos can be posed or candid. Selfies are welcome. Prizes will include award certificates, Amazon gift cards, t-shirts, flash drives, and other tchotchkes.
