Six Western New England University students spent the month of July in Paris, France, at the IESEG School of Management, a member of the University Catholique de Lille, under a special arrangement with Western New England University. The six students attend classes all day Monday through Friday, and enjoyed cultural events and field trips each weekend.

The students included College of Business sophomores Paige Camerlin, Paulina Wysocka, Alexandrea Grabiec, and Sienna Duff, junior Anna Pickard, and Pre-Pharmacy sophomore Christina Verbetsky.

The students’ classes included an Introduction to the EU, Corporate Social Responsibility and Marketing, Intercultural Communication, Irrational Consumer Behavior, Supply Chain Management, Fashion Business, Corporate Diplomacy, Managing and Leading, and International Sport Management. In addition, the students took French classes.

This unique opportunity was made possible through the partnership agreement between Western New England University and IESEG School of Management, which annually sends several French students to study for a full academic year at Western New England University.

Professor Curt Hamakawa, a former Director of International Relations for the United States Olympic Committee who now teaches at Western New England University, taught a course in International Sport Management at IESEG during the last week in July, and photographed the students at the Grande Arche in the La Defense business district of Paris, where the school is located.
