Western New England University Alumnus Bob Stein ’79, recently met with the College of Business Cohen Scholars at their bimonthly gathering in a session styled, “Breakfast Chat with the CEO.” Mr. Stein recently stepped down as president and CEO of the UK-based fuels pricing analytics firm, Kalibrate, and previously served as the former chairman, president, and CEO of Dairy Mart convenience store chain.

Stein earned his BSBA degree in accounting from the University and worked as a CPA and audit supervisor at Coopers & Lybrand, now PricewaterhouseCoopers, before starting a consulting business in retail and convenience store sales.

The Cohen Scholars consist of six business students – three seniors and three juniors – who are selected from among high-performing sophomores who undergo a rigorous application and interview process. Cohen Scholars represent the College of Business at a multitude of events and serve as student ambassadors to the College’s various constituencies.
