Volunteers Needed for Alumni Community Service Day at Children’s Study Home on Sat., April 26
Posted March 13, 2008
On Saturday, April 26, join the Alumni Association and other volunteers, including College employees and students, in a beautification project from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Children’s Study Home at Mill Pond. Participants will meet at the Kevin S. Delbridge Welcome Center parking lot at 9:45 a.m. and caravan to the site.
The projects will include cleaning and painting. This follows a tradition of Alumni Community Service Day projects in Springfield's Sixteen Acres neighborhood, including one last April, when volunteers (pictured are Dawn Whitney ’75 and student Amanda Poyant) spruced up the grounds of the Cancer House of Hope.
The Children’s Study Home is dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk children, youth, and families through educational, residential, and family services. “We’re happy to help this organization, which helps children accomplish so much in a specialized learning environment,” says project leader John Drost ’88/L’91, a member-at-large in the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
