Don't Triple-Bogey and Miss Out on the 40th Annual Alumni Golf Tournament: Register NOW
Posted March 12, 2008
This sure beats work on a Friday, and it’s for a great cause: student scholarships. The 40th Annual Alumni Golf Tournament will take place on May 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Golf Club, Agawam, MA. The cost is $130 per person, which includes golf, cart, lunch, and dinner. Meet us on the course at 10:00 a.m. for registration (11:00 a.m. shotgun start). Lunch will be served on the course from noon to 2:00 p.m. A dinner and prize ceremony will follow the tournament.
All of the proceeds gained through sponsorships, raffles, the silent auction, and donations benefit the Alumni Golf Scholarship Fund. The silent auction during the cocktail hour will include Red Sox Green Monster tickets! Moreover, there is a $20 discount for the Classes of ’02-’07, and strings are back by popular demand! For more information and to register, contact Kristina Oleksak at 413-782-1557. See the photo album/slide show of last year's tournament.
Any team that recruits a new foursome of alumni (meaning they haven’t participated in the past five years) will receive a $40 discount on their foursome’s registration fee for 2009, according to 2008 Honorary Chair Rod Pease ’77/G’82, director of Student Administrative Services at the College. Also, the silent auction will also include signed sports memorabilia.
When you play, our students win: Stephanie Bibbo, a 2006 scholarship recipient, had this to say at last year’s Alumni Golf Tournament Dinner: Thanks to the Alumni Golf Scholarship, students like me are able to afford to come back to Western New England College each semester. Without your support I wouldn’t be able to move ahead with my future."
