Nominations are Being Sought for Alumni Association Board of Directors and Alumni Awards

The Alumni Association is seeking nominations to fill vacancies on its Board of Directors. The terms begin July 1, 2009. Offices up for election are Advancement Committee Chair, Secretary of the Alumni Association, and five Member-at-Large positions.
Nominations are also being sought for Alumni Awards, including 2008 Alumnus of the Year and the Alumni Association Service Awards. You may email nominations to email@example.com. For Board positions please include a recent resume of the nominee, letter of intent, and a list of his or her volunteer activities and other accomplishments. You may also nominate yourself. Alumni Association Board of Directors Positions:
Advancement Committee Chair
This is a two-year position, renewable up to two consecutive terms. The Chair oversees the Advancement Committee in its efforts to reach the College’s annual fund goals. He or she must have served on any one of the Association teams or on the Association Board of Directors. The Chair makes a financial commitment at the President’s Circle level, participates in screening sessions to review prospective donors, and personally solicits prospects. He or she also attends events and group and individual meetings with representatives from the College as necessary.
Secretary of the Alumni Association
This is a two-year position, renewable up to two consecutive terms. The Secretary must have previously served on any one of the teams of the Alumni Association, as a Chapter Chair, or in any one of the program volunteer positions. The Secretary is responsible for editing, proofing, and preparing Association Board of Directors and Cabinet meeting minutes. The Secretary is also the liaison with the Office of Alumni Relations on any marketing issues related to the Association.
This is a one-year position, renewable up to two consecutive terms. Our five Members-at-Large work on one or more Alumni Association projects. A representative from each of the following is sought: School of Business, School of Engineering, School of Arts and Sciences, Off-Campus Programs, and Graduate Studies & Adult Learning.

2008 Alumnus of the Year
Presented to an alumnus/a who has displayed an extraordinary commitment to professional achievement, civic responsibility, high personal standards, and Western New England College with a spirit of knowledge, integrity, and service.
• A list of the nominee’s Western New England College, civic organization, and professional accomplishments.
• A statement of why you think this person is deserving of the Alumnus/a of the Year Award

2008 Alumni Association Service Awards
Service Awards are given to individuals who have donated their time and talents to the Alumni Association in their respective committees, teams, or programs. Awards are presented for service in the following areas:
• Association Board of Directors
• Volunteer Management Committee (Awards, Constitution and Bylaws, Nominating, and Skookum Award Teams)
• Alumni Outreach Committee (Homecoming, Alumni Golf Tournament, and Student/Alumni Teams)
• Special Projects
• Outstanding Service (general)
