Alumni can Take Advantage of the Pre-Sale Opportunity for Cirque du Soleil’s Amherst Performances of Alegria
Posted June 4, 2009
Through a partnership with Cirque du Soleil, Western New England College alumni can purchase tickets to the upcoming area performances of Alegria before they go on sale to the general public. Alegria will be staged at the Mullins Center in Amherst, MA September 16-20.
The themes of Alegria, whose name means “jubilation” in Spanish, are the abuse of power and the subsequent struggle for freedom. Alegria has toured around the world, and the show’s soundtrack remains the best selling Cirque du Soleil album to date. To access the ticket presale (by signing up to the Cirque Club at no charge), click here. The pre-sale ends July 6 at 10:00 a.m.
Cirque du Soleil’s creations have been awarded numerous prizes and distinctions, including Rose d’Or, Bambi, four Primetime Emmy Awards, and three Gemini Awards. Pictured is an Alegria production in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2007.
