Careers-in-Sport Alumni Panel Shares Strategies for Career Success in Multi-Billion Dollar Industry

In conjunction with a Western New England University Open House on February 18, the College of Business held its annual Careers-in-Sport Alumni Panel Session in a packed Sleith Auditorium. Panelists shared with prospective students and their parents insights on studying sport management at Western New England. They also gave perspectives on industry sectors in addition to strategies and tips for achieving career success.
Returning sport management alumni included Kyle Bak ’10, a coach for the New England Revolution Youth Academy; Brad Medeiros ’11 and Kyle Knickerbocker ’09, both account executives for the Springfield Armor basketball team; Erin Doherty ’11, special events and student athlete advisory committee specialist for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference; Jake Rinaldo ’09 group sales manager for the New Jersey Devils; Tim Arduino, a sales planner for NBC Sports; Kyle Lindsay ’06, an account executive for the New England Revolution; Tim Conrod ’11, an ad solutions and revenue analyst for ESPN; and Jay Martyn ’05, operations manager at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, CT.
The event was moderated by Sport Management Department Chair Sharianne Walker. The Sport Management Program, celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2012, took the occasion to recognize Kyle Lindsay ’06 (pictured below) as the recipient of the Department's Distinguished Young Alumnus Award.
