Students Attend Hearing to Support Grant Funding

Two Western New England University seniors, Emily Fitzgerald of Pittsfield and Michelle Delgado of Springfield, testified before the Massachusetts Subcommittee on Student Loans and Debt of the Joint Committee on Higher Education. The hearing was held at Holyoke Community College on September 30. Both students testified in support of more state funding for student grants. Massachusetts currently ranks 49 out of 50 in terms of student grants for higher education.
Western New England University is a private, independent, coeducational institution founded in 1919. Located on an attractive 215-acre suburban campus in Springfield, Massachusetts, Western New England University serves 3,700 students, including 2,550 full-time undergraduate students. Undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs are offered through Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, and Pharmacy, and School of Law.
