College of Business Maintains Prestigious AACSB Accreditation

The Western New England University College of Business has maintained its business accreditation by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education and is earned by fewer than five percent of the world’s business degree programs.
Achieving accreditation is a process of rigorous internal review, evaluation, and adjustment which can take several years to complete. Western New England’s College of Business first earned this distinction in 2003. All accredited schools must go through a continuous improvement peer review process every five years in order to maintain their accreditation.
“The College of Business has created a competitive advantage through its offering of online graduate options and by developing a variety of undergraduate majors and concentrations,” said Julie Siciliano, dean of the College of Business. “The review team was impressed with these program offerings and with the dedication of the faculty who deliver on the promise of a close working relationship with students, not only in the classroom but also in career preparation.”
“It takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn and maintain AACSB Accreditation,” said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. “Business schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and professional staff must make a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students.”
Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body that offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting Today, there are 687 business schools in 45 countries and territories that have earned AACSB Accreditation.
The Western New England University College of Business offers undergraduate programs in accounting, arts and entertainment management, business administration, business analytics and information management, entrepreneurship, finance, general business, international business, management and leadership, marketing, marketing communications/advertising, pharmaceutical business, and sport management.
