Posted March 13, 2014
On March 1, College of Engineering alumni gathered at Rivers Memorial Hall for their second annual Networking Dinner with professors, administrators, and students. Speaking at the event were College of Engineering Assistant Dean Richard Grabiec, Lou Masi ’88, Lisa Murray ’04, Kyle Pepin ’13, and Alumni Relations Director Kathy Pappas G’98.
Murray described the journey to her present role as a laboratory supervisor at the College of Engineering. The native of Jamaica who majored in Biomedical Engineering, Murray began her career as an environmental analyst and then served as a teacher before returning to the University and “feeling like I’m back home.” She credited her education with providing her with the know-how and confidence she needs in her career. “The rigorous program they put me through prepared me to tackle anything,” she said.
The event was hosted by the University’s chapters of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Biomedical Engineering Society, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Institute of Industrial Engineers, and the Society of Women Engineers.
