Debra Latour, M.Ed., OTR/L is a registered occupational therapist, Consultant and Owner of Single-Handed Solutions, LLC, providing consulting services to manufacturers, researchers, clinical providers and individuals with upper limb loss/differences. She offers clinical services through her affiliations with Handspring and ATI. Debi graduated from BSOT/Tufts University and earned her M.Ed. (Advanced Practice OT) from Springfield College. She is enrolled in the post-professional OT doctoral program at A.T. Still University. Debi is an active member of the Amputee Coalition and its Upper Limb Advisory Council. She is also a member of ACPOC, AAOP, ATA, ACRM and AOTA. Debi has a congenital upper limb difference, is an active prosthesis-user and shares her experiences and tips through her blog at www.Single-HandedSolutions.blogspot.com. She is the inventor of record of prosthetic technology and methodology including the Cutaneous Anchor Technology (patented) and the TAB (patent-pending).
Professor Latour is currently an Assistant Professor of Practice. Her areas of interest include population health and wellness, inter-professional collaboration, advocacy and policy. Professor Latour engages learners in the classroom teaching Adults and Aging practice 1 and 3, Evaluation: Occupational Performance and Analysis of Occupation, and Population Health. In her spare time, Professor Latour volunteers in the community, enjoys biking and hiking with her husband, gardening, travel, and socializing with friends and family.
