Matthew Dintzner received his B.S. degree with honors in chemistry from Holy Cross College, his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Syracuse University, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA. Prior to coming to Western New England University, Dr. Dintzner chaired the Department of Chemistry at DePaul University in Chicago, where he also contributed significantly to the assessment activities of the department, college, and university.
As Assistant Dean for Assessment & Accreditation, Dr. Dintzner provides leadership, oversight, and direct support for programmatic assessment activities to ensure institutional effectiveness and systematic improvement aligned with the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education standards, university program reviews, and university accreditation. He completed a fellowship in Academic Leadership through the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy during the 2015-2016 academic year.
Dr. Dintzner has published over a dozen peer-reviewed manuscripts or book chapters in synthetic organic chemistry methodology and chemistry education, and has begun to publish within the fields of pharmaceutical education and assessment. Dr. Dintzner is the instructor of record for PHAR 513 Biochemistry, teaches the medicinal chemistry components of several of the integrated therapeutics courses, and is the instructor of record for PHAR 880 Professional Development IV.
