Research interests

Dr. Gilzad Kohan’s interests include developing clinical and non-clinical PK/PD projects, which investigate pathophysiological changes on the action and disposition of the drugs. In addition, he is interested in chemical structure modification (including pro-drug synthesis) in order to improve pharmacokinetic (PK) properties of anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory drugs. Currently, he is working on a research project titled “Synthesis, Characterization, and Pharmacokinetic (PK) Studies of Novel Chemotherapeutic Derivatives”. Additionally, his research involves drug disease interaction studies, including the study of the Influence of the Pro-inflammatory Cytokines on Expression of the Intestinal P-gp.
