Federal Direct Loan Promissory Notes

The promissory notes for the Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans, as well as the parent Plus loan, are electronically signed at studentloans.gov. Sign in using your FSA ID and choose 'Complete Master Promissory Note'.

If you have been awarded a Federal Perkins Loan, you will be notified of the loan requirements separately. 

Federal Direct Loan Entrance and Exit Counseling

Entrance Counseling: All first time borrowers are required to complete online entrance counseling. Without the counseling completed, the University cannot disburse loan proceeds. Click studentloans.gov to access the Federal Student Aid website. Sign in with your FSA ID and click on 'Complete Entrance Counseling'.

Exit Counseling: Upon graduating, withdrawing from college, or going below half-time status in any semester, borrowers are required to complete an exit counseling session. Go to studentloans.gov and select 'Exit Counseling'.  You will need your FSA ID to complete Exit Counseling.

If you have been awarded a Federal Perkins Loan, you will be notified of the loan requirements separately.

Federal Perkins Loan Promissory Note/Entrance Counseling

You will be notified by the Bursar when your loan has been established.  After you have been notified, sign the promissory note at www.signmyloan.com

Due to a change in federal regulations, the Perkins program will end on September 30, 2017.

Federal Perkins Loan Exit Counseling

To fulfill your Federal Perkins Loan Exit Counseling and better understand the repayment of your student loans you may click here to go to the University Accounting Service website.

The Exit Counseling is required upon graduation, or when a student leaves Western New England University.

You should have the following information available:

  1. Your Social Security Number
  2. Your Driver's License Number
  3. Name, Address, Telephone Number of 3 References
