Arts Programs

  • Art

    Take a quiet moment to contemplate artwork by local artists at the Western New England University Art Gallery, located in the St. Germain Campus Center. You can take University courses in Art Appreciation, Drawing, Life Painting, Papermaking, Paper as Fiber Art, 3-D Art, Survey of Western Art II, Jewelry-Making, and Medieval Architecture and Society.

  • Music

    The music program features choirs and instrumental ensembles performing on and off-campus. Courses offered include music theory, music appreciation, guitar, and more. Take private lessons at the Community Music School. Enjoy concerts during the week and weekend.

  • Theatre


    The Stageless Players has a history spanning 30 years. Each semester, the Improv on the Rocks improv comedy troupe wows audiences with its creative comedy. Courses offered include Acting, Directing, and Improvisational Comedy.

  • Film and Media

    Courses in film and media studies give students opportunities to write, direct, act, film, and edit their own videos and films. The University provides a variety of internships at The Northampton Independent Film Festival. Film courses offered include the Art of Film, the Haunted Screen, and Documentary Film.

Trips

Each semester, trips are offered to both Broadway and off Broadway shows! This past year, students were given the opportunity to travel to see Les Miserables and Wicked. A trip to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA was also offered during the Spring Semester. These trips have a cost associated and tickets are limited. Information is availible through the Office of Student Activities and Leadership Development as well as on University Post.

Music

Whether it's a CAB Small concert, Golden Bear Band and Campus Chorus' Spring Showcase, WNEK DJ'ing an event or a musical guest on campus for Spring Event, music is a large part of life at Western New England!
