Please join me in thanking them for their considerable time and efforts that they will be devoting to the search over the coming months.

After interviewing a number of search firms, we selected WittKieffer, a nationally-recognized firm to assist us with our search.  WittKieffer was selected based on its deep experience and successful track record conducting President searches, the firm’s collaborative approach to working with institutions, and our confidence in the team’s ability to articulate the remarkable opportunity to serve as Western New England’s next President.

WittKieffer has appointed two highly qualified members of the firm to our search.  Lucy Leske, Senior Partner, and Sheila Murphy, Consultant, will be working with us.  They are supported by their staff in the WittKieffer offices in Boston and elsewhere.

On November 13 and 14, President Search Committee members, joined by the WittKieffer team, will host an initial set of listening sessions to ensure that the search process — and ultimately, our next President — reflect the culture, values and aspirations of Western New England University. In the weeks ahead, the Committee will seek and rely on feedback from across the campus community.  Please refer to the schedule following this message.

There will be opportunities for faculty, staff, students, and alumni to provide input to the Committee. A President Search web page will soon be launched to keep the community informed. The attached document sheet contains the search firm contact information.  You may contact them with any questions, suggestions, or concerns. I encourage you to use these various opportunities to share your thoughts about our University, your hopes for its future, and the characteristics that will be required of our next leader.

Thank you in advance for your support and participation as we embark together on the search for our next President — and, as always, for all you do for Western New England University.

Sincerely,

Ken Rickson
Chair, Board of Trustees
