Politican Science

Lyubov Kodreanu is a Political Science major from Chicopee, MA.  She is the current president of the Campus Activities Board and the treasurer for the Golden Bear Commuter Club. Lulu has a 3.9 GPA and a passion for leadership, which she used to help the Commuter Club grow in the past year. With the help of a brand-new executive board, Lulu expanded the groups outreach efforts, which included establishing regular membership meetings, social media accounts, and programming to ensure WNE commuters stay informed and involved in life on campus.

Lulu’s favorite experience at the University was participating in the Alternative Spring Break trip in 2018, when she traveled to Beaumont, TX to assist with Hurricane Harvey relief. Lulu says that it was really rewarding to see that something as simple as tearing down a wall can a hugely positive impact somebody’s life. Lulu has a special interest in community service and loves to help in any way that she can. She recently volunteered for Habitat for Humanity to clear a property that will be used to build a house for a family in need.

This past summer Lulu interned with Community Legal Aid in Springfield. As a non-profit organization it provides legal assistance and counsel to low-income families, victims of domestic violence, and the elderly. Hearing the client’s stories gave her a renewed appreciation for what she has and motivated her to continue giving back whenever possible.

After graduation Lulu hopes to pursue her Master’s degree in Political Science. She is interested in data analysis and would like to work for the State of Massachusetts in their analytics department. Lulu believes that data is the heart of innovation, and proper data and research will only make policies more efficient and long-lasting, especially in terms of how different communities and groups are impacted.
