Accounting and Finance
Thaddeus (Tucker) France IV is an Accounting and Finance dual major with an Economics minor from Brimfield, MA. A student in the Business Honors College, Tucker has been involved in a variety of activities on campus, including membership in such honor societies as Alpha Lambda Delta, Mortar Board, and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
On campus, Tucker can often be found in the St. Germain Campus Center, where he is a Building Supervisor. He is also an Open House Associate, a Resident Advisor in freshman residence halls, has been the Events Chairperson for Midnight Madness and a two-term President of Student Senate, where he has also served as Assistant Finance Chair and Sophomore Class Representative.
An avid golfer, Tucker played for his high school golf team for four years and began his college career as an NCAA student-athlete on the Western New England University golf team his freshman and sophomore years. Although he stepped down from the team in order to focus on his studies, he remained active in the sport as the Student Representative on the Alumni Golf Committee and as a youth golf instructor with Massachusetts Golf Association for Kids.
One of the first organizations Tucker joined at Western New England was the Residence Hall Association. With encouragement from his own freshman Resident Advisor, Tucker wanted to connect with and help freshman students in transition. After three years on the job, Tucker is proud to say that he still has relationships with his original residents. In fact, he attributes his time as a Resident Advisor with changing the way he looks at life and rewarded in knowing that he has helped his residents see the best in themselves and make positive decisions. In this position, he also learned valuable interpersonal skills and time management.
Over the past two summers, Tucker has worked as a Summer Analyst for The Bank of New York Mellon in its active equity investment boutique The Boston Company. He spent his first summer with the firm working on the compliance team, specifically focusing on portfolio guideline extraction and implementation, and then during his second summer worked with the firm’s core research team conducting fundamental analysis on mid cap biotechnology companies. After graduation, Tucker plans to sit for the CFA exam and will pursue a career in financial services.
