You're Invited: Senior Send Off Parade
Updated April 20, 2021
The Western New England University community would like to honor you before you enter the next exciting chapter in your lives.
On April 29, 2021 from 12:30 – 2:00 pm we invite all graduating students to a “Senior Send Off Parade” through campus. All you need to do is come in your cap and gown to the athletic fields, where you will be lined up single-file, six feet apart in no alphabetical order or college affiliation to take part in a celebration designed for you. No cap and gown, no problem. Join the parade anyway.
Led by the drumline, you will be guided on a route through campus passing all buildings where faculty, staff, and fellow students will physically distance outside their respective buildings to cheer you on. You will end back at the Pine Grove with space to disperse graduates with physical distancing in mind.
This is not a graduation or commencement ceremony, which will take place on May 15 and 16. This is our opportunity as a campus community to come together, congratulate you and your accomplishments, and create a positive experience. We heard directly from students and would like to help create some positive emotions for you surrounding your accomplishments.
I encourage all graduating students to participate in this fun and celebratory event. This is just one of the many events we have planned to honor, recognize and celebrate all of our graduates, across all degree levels, during Graduate Appreciation Week.
Details and updates regarding the event, parade route, and COVID-19 safety protocols can be found on commencement website, https://www1.wne.edu/commencement/index.cfm.
If you have any questions about this event or questions related to commencement please email Gina Lovotti at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All my best,
