Western New England University has adopted a four-level alert system to provide guidance to the campus community regarding the current level of risk present on campus and to inform key operational decisions that need to be made. The University will be evaluating the metrics outlined below in order to make a data-based decision on the appropriate alert-level for the University.

We know how eager our Golden Bears are to enjoy all aspects of the traditional student experience at WNE. But in order for the campus to open safely and for most classes to remain on-ground, students must take face covering and physical distancing requirements, health and safety protocols, and state hot spot quarantine and travel guidelines to heart.

Student Health Guidelines
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. Western New England University is following the guidance and recommendations from the CDC and Massachusetts DPH. Health Services has a comprehensive plan in place. We are monitoring developments closely and are proactively taking the appropriate steps and measures to maximize prevention, minimize risk, and ensure that we are prepared to respond. The health and safety of our students, employees, and community is our highest priority.
