COVID-19 Vaccination Submissions
Dear Students and Colleagues,
As the Commonwealth’s COVID-19 vaccination program has progressed, we have been increasingly asked if vaccinated individuals will remain subject to surveillance testing AND how proof of vaccination can be provided to the appropriate University offices.
We have set up an email address to which vaccination record cards or other documentation may be emailed. The email address is: covidvac@wne.edu. You may send the documentation as an email attachment to that email address in any standard format, such as a .pdf or .jpg file. Remember that we only need to identify you by name in most instances, so you can black out most other personally identifiable information that may be on the record. Leaving year of birth visible is normally sufficient to differentiate between individuals with the same name.
The email account is accessible only to health services/student affairs (which may use the documentation to verify vaccination if later required), human resources (which will attach the documentation to the medical portion of your personnel record), and the EMRT Chair (who will use it to exclude you from weekly testing as appropriate). If you have received your most recent vaccination more than 14 days previous to a test week Monday, we will currently exclude you from random weekly surveillance testing. However, you may still be included later in general screenings, such as fall return to campus screening, or if circumstances change. It is important to remember that none of the vaccines currently approved for emergency use are 100 percent effective in preventing disease.
There is no University requirement to provide proof of vaccination at this time. However, individuals not submitting documents will remain in the surveillance pool, and will not be excused from testing by showing proof at the time of testing.
Please feel free to contact any of us if you have questions.
Sincerely,
