Process for Noncompliance with Vaccination Policy

Updated August 30, 2021

Dear Students:

Welcome Back! I hope you are having a great first day of classes. Thank you to the large majority of you who have complied with our COVID-19 vaccination requirement. Your compliance is noted and will help us keep each other safe and stay on campus this semester.

This is an important reminder that if you have not submitted your proof of vaccination or request for exemption that today is a very important deadline.

Please see below for the process that will take place if we do not hear from you by the end of the day today:

  1. No documentation by end of day August 30, 2021: a $500 non-refundable fine will be placed on your student account
  2. No documentation by end of day September 7, 2021: your network access will be disabled by the University
  3. No documentation by end of day September 13, 2021: you will be placed on interim suspension from the University and engage in a suspension hearing for Failure to Comply with the health and safety expectations of the university. A suspension means you will be removed from classes, unable to earn credit for the semester, and you will be liable for tuition, fee, room, and board charges per the University Withdrawals and Refunds policy.

Detailed information can be found here: https://www1.wne.edu/coronavirus/messages-for-students.cfm.

Please be aware of the financial repercussions should you be suspended. Please contact Enrollment Services if you have questions about the Refund policy.

Please contact Health Services immediately to rectify this matter at 413-782-1211. You may also submit your vaccination paperwork to covidvac@wne.edu.

Western New England takes the health and safety of our community seriously. Please take care of this immediately so that no further action will be needed.

Thank you,

Kerri P. Jarzabski
