Important Information from Human Resources
Employees who are identified as “high risk” by their healthcare provider may provide documentation to Human Resources and request accommodations under the ADA or FMLA as necessary. An ADA accommodation could include working from home, if the functions of the position can be performed remotely. (excludes Public Safety and Health Services)
Employees with school aged children (enrolled in schools that have recently closed) or other dependents who require care due to a medical or mental health condition may also request a waiver to be excused from reporting to work. Employees with approved waivers will still receive compensation (excludes Public Safety and Health Services)
Employees with a presumptive or confirmed case of COVID-19 will be eligible for Short Term Disability (STD) on the first day of work missed. The same coverage applies to an employee when a family member (residing in the employee’s home) is presumed positive or diagnosed with COVID-19. Other employees who have come into contact with the (presumptive) infected employee may also be eligible for STD.
Employees who have been activated for duty with the National Guard or as a FEMA Responder will be made whole in terms of compensation or paid in full by the University during his/her absence.

Presumptive Case of COVID-19- A person can only have a presumptive case of COVID-19 if they have been tested. Those who have been tested are normally placed in isolation until test results are finalized.
