Professor Setty is the honored recipient of the 2017 Tapping Legal Educator Award from the Connecticut Bar Association. This award is presented to legal educators who have made significant contributions to the cause of legal educations over a period of years and have distinguished themselves as a legal educator of the highest quality.

The award will be presented at the CBA’s annual “Celebrate with the Stars” awards celebration on April 13, at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville. Sudha Setty is the Associate Dean for Faculty and Development & Intellectual Life and a professor at the School of Law. As a professor, she teaches law and terrorism, comparative constitutional law, constitutional law, civil rights, and business organization and contracts. Her scholarly work focuses on comparative analysis of the separation of powers, rules of law, and national security issues.

“Sudha Setty has been recognized several times by her peers for her work as a legal educator. Her focus on national security issues is particularly relevant at this point in our country’s history,” said Monte Frank, president of the CBA. “As lawyers, members of the CBA have a particular interest in maintaining the rule of law as a means of protecting the liberty of all Americans. Sudha’s work in this field embodies the values of all lawyers and should be recognized.”
