On Friday, September 16, the Class of 2017 Council held the third annual Fall Ball for all students in Rivers Memorial Hall.

“Fall Ball is the first dance of the year. Our class council created the event in 2014 when we were sophomores. Our goal is to get students comfortable in the college environment, meet new people, and have some fun,” explained senior Chelsea Service, a Fall Ball Committee member.

About 150 students attended the Fall Ball this year. Nearly all were dressed to the nines, wearing dresses and heels, or dress shirts, ties, and slacks – “looking sharp and feeling fine”. The Fall Ball Dance also provided students with great food and a photo booth, but the majority of students spent the whole evening on the dance floor.

There are 25 members of the 2017 Senior Class Council, and all hope that the Fall Ball will continue as a tradition after they graduate.

Saturday morning, ASME revved up students with their biannual car show.

Western New England University’s Chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) held a car show in the Sleith Hall parking lot on Saturday, September 17.

About 25 proud car owners showed off their “wheels” to dozens of interested students and visitors, as the car show was open to both University students as well as the community.

“As a self funded club, we try to put on as many events as we can to raise money. The Car Show is a fundraising event, and we accept donations, but we also recruit new members to ASME at the show each year,” senior Paul Mazza said.
