Set in Chicago, Illinois in the roaring '20s - the jazz age -this spring production of Chicago is being directed by Alexandria Escribano, and features 17 student actors. Choreography is by Aileen Merino Terzi and Karen McMahon, and musical direction is by Debi Salli.

Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a chorus girl who murders a faithless lover and convinces her husband, Amos, to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune, and acquittal. A satire on the corruption of the American justice system and the "celebrity criminal", Chicago is a musical extravaganza that includes several show-stopping numbers such as "All That Jazz," "Razzle Dazzle," and "Class."

The performance is made possible thanks to support by Student Senate, the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership, and the Department of Communications, Media, and the Arts.
