The Western New England (WNE) University School of Law is excited to announce that it has been awarded a $150,000 Bar Success Intervention Grant from the nonprofit group AccessLex Institute. This funding will be used to enhance the law school's efforts to improve bar passage rates and promote student success.

The cornerstone of the grant will support the Western New England University School of Law graduates by providing a cost-of-living stipend to a small number of students to alleviate their need to work during the Summer bar preparation study period. In addition, the grant also provides a 10-week intensive preparation program (that includes a customized study plan, accountability coaches, practice tests, and wellness check-ins). The program is designed to equip students with the resources and support they need to overcome the final hurdle of entry into the legal profession – the bar exam.

"We believe that many graduates struggle with success on the bar exam because they do not have the resources to dedicate full attention to bar exam preparation," explained Justin Dion, Assistant Dean of Academic & Bar Success. "Our objective is to ensure that our target students are placed in the most financially stable position possible so they may prepare and succeed on the bar exam and begin their legal careers with confidence."

The Western New England University School of Law has a longstanding commitment to promoting student success, and this grant will help the school further its efforts to prepare graduates for successful careers in the legal profession. Through the Bar Success Intervention Grant Program, the law school will continue to develop and implement strategies that support students' academic and professional success.

"We are grateful to AccessLex Institute for their support and recognition of our efforts to help students succeed in their legal careers," said Beth Cohen, Interim Dean of the WNE University School of Law. "This grant is a testament to Western New England University School of Law's unwavering commitment to supporting our students' academic and professional success.

AccessLex Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting law students and institutions in their academic and professional goals. The Bar Success Intervention Grant Program is a part of AccessLex's ongoing efforts to improve and positively impact law school education and the legal community. With this grant, Western New England University School of Law is taking another step forward in its mission to promote diversity and student success in the legal profession.
