Dr. Erin Wells graduated with her entry level Master’s degree in occupational therapy from Quinnipiac University. She then earned her post-professional OTD from Quinnipiac University. Dr. Wells has experience working in pediatrics and mental health based settings. Prior to her position at Western New England University, she was working in a pediatric outpatient setting, where she worked with children aged 0-21 in a clinical setting. In addition, Dr. Wells worked in traditional and specialized school settings in the state of Connecticut. She also has experience providing group therapy in a community based program for individuals with mental and behavioral health challenges.
Dr. Wells has received the Emerging Leader (2013) and Fieldwork Educator of the Year (2019) award from the Connecticut Occupational Therapy Association, where she served as an executive board member from 2013-2016. Dr. Wells’ research interests include occupational pursuits for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as trauma informed pedagogy. In her free time, Erin enjoys spending time with her three young children and reading.
