Dr. Rivelli graduated from the Worcester State College with a BS in Occupational Therapy and went on to earn her Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree at Chatham University. Prior to joining the faculty at Western New England University, Dr. Rivelli worked for several years in both public schools and rehabilitation centers throughout central Massachusetts, retiring from the schools in March of 2016.   

Dr. Rivelli is currently an Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program at Western New England University specializing in pediatrics. Her curriculum development and teaching responsibility includes Children and Youth practice 1 and 2, Kinesiology, Introduction to Occupational Therapy, and Therapeutic Use of Self & Group Interventions. Dr. Rivelli’s areas of interest include health and wellness, pediatrics, assistive technology, and sexual abuse prevention in children.  She continues per diem clinical work in a short term rehabilitation center in  Massachusetts.

Dr. Rivelli’s research interests include the role of the school based occupational therapist in response to intervention (RtI), fitness across the lifespan, and emerging markets in occupational therapy including preventative care, and tele rehabilitation.  Personal Interests include community volunteering, investing, boating, fishing, hiking, biking, reading, and life-long learning.
