Dr. Angela Maggio received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, Massachusetts. She is the fifth PGY-1 Community-Based Pharmacy Resident for the Walgreens and Western New England University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences program. She has worked in the practice of community pharmacy as a pharmacy cashier, technician, and intern for Rite Aid Pharmacy since 2013. She is enthusiastic about working with both Walgreens and Western New England University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences this upcoming year.
Dr. Maggio is passionate about providing patient-centered education and hopes to pursue a career in both community pharmacy and academia. Her experience with her ambulatory care advanced pharmacy practice rotations developed her interest in chronic disease state management, with a focus on diabetes. She is enthusiastic about playing a role in pharmacists’ education in the community practice setting, with both nonpharmacological and medication therapy management. She is also passionate about advocating in the field of pharmacy for provider status and continual substance abuse training. Dr. Maggio is looking forward to working with patients and healthcare providers to provide optimal patient-centered care and to promote overall wellness!
