What Will You Study?
In this major, you’ll gain a solid foundation in core Business functions combined with understanding of theoretical foundations of Analytics and hands-on experience with analytics software tools. In almost all courses, you’ll have the opportunity to gain direct experience with industry standard Analytics software from vendors such as SAS, SAP, Microsoft, and IBM. To broaden your knowledge of IT and its integration with business functions, the program includes SAP certification, which is included in the core Business courses, and requires no additional coursework. In addition, you can earn a minor in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). The coursework for the ERP minor builds on the SAP certificate and all additional requirements can be completed within the elective courses available in the major. The University is accredited by AACSB International, the leading accrediting body for business programs worldwide.
McKinsey Global Institute research shows that need for skilled Business Intelligence workers in the U.S. will exceed the available work force by 60 percent. According to Forbes, for every 10 business professionals, there is one or fewer data scientist with analytics or advanced analytics skills. With this degree, you will be marketable in jobs such as Healthcare Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Sports Analytics, Finance Analytics, and Human Resource Analytics, to name a few. Business Analytics and Information Management students have interests in: Alpha Lambda Delta (First-year honor society), Alpha Kappa Psi (Professional business fraternity), and Beta Gamma Sigma (Honor Society). Many of our students also participate in varsity and intramural sports, special interest groups, and student government.
Our faculty has the background and experience to prepare you for a career in the new and exciting field of Analytics. Courses are taught from practitioner's view of the business world and prepare you for entry-level positions in the field. Faculty are trained with the use of SAS Analytics, SAP ERP, SAP BW, SAP Analytics, and IBM Analytics tools, which are taught in the courses. These tools are industry standards and the list is continuously updated.

The SAP Certification Advantage
SAP, the Enterprise software, is part of our core Business Education of how today's Businesses are Run. SAP is used by companies such as SunPower for Talent Management, San Francisco 49ers to enhance fan experience and Proctor & Gamble for Real-Time Analytics. Students receive SAP certification, which expands career options. SAP courses are taught in the new Business Analytics Center in D'Amour Library.
