This major has a significant focus on experiential opportunities and students often have several internships in the field. They may complete a three-credit collegiate athletics course, which provides the opportunity to plan, organize, and lead various elements of sport-related programming which may include intercollegiate athletic teams, intramurals, recreation, and health and wellness. In the six-credit Advanced Field Experience, qualified students spend a semester completing a full-time internship within a sport organization. Recent sites include the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia 76ers, Kansas City Chiefs and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
