Mailbox Key - Pickup

Mailbox keys for incoming freshmen are issued during Orientation - Transition day. A tent is set up on Commonwealth Hall lawn from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If you miss picking up your key on that day, go to Mail Services located at the Campus Utility Building (CUB) across from the tennis courts. Mail Services' hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and Saturdays during open session 8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon.

You will receive your mailbox key and a paper with instructions on how to address you incoming mail. You are to keep this key for the entire time you are at Western New England University. Commuters are not given a mailbox unless one is requested. Should you lose your key, the lock will be changed and your student account will be charged $45.00. If your lock doesn't work, come to Mail Services and a work order will be filled out for the Locksmith to repair it at no charge.

Mailbox Key - Drop Off

On your last day at Western New England University, return your key to Mail Services. If you cannot get to Mail Services during hours of operation, you can mail your key back in an envelope noting "Hand Stamp" to ensure the key is not lost in the USPS equipment. Address the envelope as follows:

Mail Services
Western New England University
1215 Wilbraham Road
Springfield, MA  01119-2684

If you fail to return your key within two weeks after Commencement, your student account will be charged $45.00.

Incoming Mail and Packages

All mail addressed to students with a mailbox is delivered to the Campus Center Mail Room located on the first floor. You will need your key to access your mailbox. Please pick up your mail frequently. The boxes are small and there can be time-sensitive mail.

Student packages delivered to the University with the student's name and mailbox number (mailstop) are picked up at Mail Services located in the CUB. A notification slip is placed in your student mailbox after 2:00 p.m. for the day's deliveries. You can call Mail Services at 413-782-1509 to see if your package has arrived. Please keep in mind that all carriers deliver once a day: USPS delivery is at 8:30 a.m.; FedEx and UPS deliveries are done from 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. If a perishable package arrives, Mail Services will call your telephone number on file. The package will be placed in the refrigerator or freezer. Please pick up the package promptly.  We have limited refrigeration space.
