Chris Olsen ’90, NFL Houston Texans VP, to Speak on Campus Sept. 21

The Center for International Sport Business (CISB) will host Chris Olsen ’90, vice president of football administration for the NFL’s Houston Texans, as the 26th speaker in the “For the Love of the Games” program series on September 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Sleith Hall’s Wood Auditorium.

The event, which is free and open to the public, was made possible by a grant from the Alumni Association.

Olsen is responsible for negotiating player contracts and managing the team’s salary cap. Prior to joining the Texans’ front office staff, he worked for the NFL League Office in New York City, where he managed labor relations, including the league’s collective bargaining agreement. Before he joined the NFL, Olsen worked for the New Jersey State Golf Association.

The New Jersey native earned his B.S.B.A. degree from Western New England University and master’s degree in sport management from Springfield College before embarking on his career in professional sports. As a senior, Olsen interned with the AHL Springfield Indians, and while in graduate school, he interned with the NHL Hartford Whalers.
