School of Law to Host Attorney Azizah Yasin

Career Path: First Assistant Clerk-Magistrate, Holyoke District Court

School of Law will host Attorney Azizah Yasin, on Wednesday, March 13, at 12:00 noon in the Blake Law Center Faculty Lounge, as part of the School’s Color of Law Roundtable Discussion Series. Attorney Azizah Yasin is the First Assistant Clerk-Magistrate of the Holyoke District Court as well as the Dedicated Clerk of the Western Massachusetts Veterans Treatment Court, which is one of the Specialty Courts that helps veterans who come into contact with the criminal justice system as they struggle to reintegrate into society post-military service.

Attorney Yasin had her own law practice in Quincy for nearly fourteen years, during which time she represented clients in such areas as domestic relations, immigration, child welfare, and personal injury law. She graduated with a B.A. from Wellesley College, double majoring in Africana Studies and Psychology. She later graduated from Boston University School of Law with a J.D., with a concentration in Litigation and Dispute Resolution.

Attorney Yasin is a member of the Hampden County Bar Association and serves as the New England Regional Representative for the Wellesley College Alumnae of African Decent.

The Color of Law series is designed to expose Western New England University law students to attorneys, professionals, and judges of color. The series provides students a chance to network with people of color from the legal community and learn about various career paths.
