92 Golden Bears Named to CCC Spring All-Academic Team

The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced their list of 2022 Spring Academic All-Conference honorees on June 9, recording 92 Western New England winter/spring student athletes to receive honors.

To qualify to be enriched on the Academic All-Conference team, the student athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) and must also have attained sophomore academic status. The spring list includes participants from each of the CCC's member institutions who participated in baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's golf, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, softball, and men's tennis, which are all sports sponsored by Western New England University.

The 92 student athletes that met the qualifications from Western New England University were among the 943 student-athletes honored by the CCC this spring season. Both Salve Regina University and Endicott College tied with 134 student athletes entering the list of honorees. Both Nichols College and Suffolk University would hit over the 100 marks, seeing 104 and 106 student-athletes join the list, respectively. Roger Williams University (96) and Western New England University (92) would both reach the 90 mark on this year's list. The University of New England (89), Wentworth Institute of Technology (70), Curry College (60) and Gordon College (58) would wrap up the list of All-Academic team honorees.

Western New England University saw men's lacrosse lead the way with 21 Academic All-Conference honorees. Men's ice hockey came in second place with 18, while baseball (13), women's lacrosse (11) and women's ice hockey (10) all reached double figures. Softball (7), women's basketball (6), men's basketball (5), and men's tennis (2) would round out the list of the 92 student athletes from the winter/spring seasons.
