Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs)

Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs) occur during the first three professional years and involve on-site practice experiences in community and health system settings, including interactions with healthcare consumers and pharmacists. There are three required IPPE blocks consisting of a combination of community and health system rotations. IPPEs permit learners, under appropriate supervision and as permitted by practice regulations, to assumed direction patient care responsibilities. IPPEs, which begin in the first year of the curriculum, are interfaced with didactic course work that provides an introduction to the profession, and continue in a progressive manner leading to entry into the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs).
