The Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program at Western New England University is responding to the national and international call for changing the way healthcare is delivered, and the way healthcare professionals are educated. Rapidly changing healthcare systems are demanding more of entry-level practitioners. The Western New England University OTD curriculum is meeting this call by providing academic preparation beyond a generalist level, including advanced graduate knowledge, skills, and fieldwork/experiential opportunities.
The entry-level OTD is a three-year program completed over 9 semesters, including summer sessions. It is designed for students who will have a bachelor’s degree and all prerequisite courses completed prior to beginning the program.
The National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) posted a 100% pass rate on the NBCOT certification examination for the Western New England University Doctor of Occupational Therapy Class of 2020. This is the highest passing rate among OTD programs in western Massachusetts.
